Buckle Up, Democrats

Republicans and far left DINOs — Democrats in name only — are relentlessly attacking vice president Harris and Black voters and it will only get worse.

We are over a year away from the 2024 election and the GOP, various third party groups have unofficially banded together under one common strategy:

Attack VP Kamala Harris and weaken support for her among democrats in general, and Black men specifically.

If they succeed, they believe, democratic voters will instead vote for an off-brand Looney Toons candidate or decide not to vote at all.

In both scenarios there is only one winner: republicans.

Third Party groups are using the same playbook that did not work last election, or the election before that, or before that, or before…..

That strategy is the lowest hanging political fruit and the easiest and laziest of any strategy — in other words, typical GOP strategy to supress votes.

Oh, they’ve tried attacking President Biden about his age and his occasional malapropism that so endeared them to Ronald Reagan but which puts Fox News and social media journalists in a frenzoid tizzy because it is President Biden. But they and their media mouthpieces aren’t finding traction with ageism, so they falling back to their tried and true racism and misogyny.

This election it is not only VP Harris they are focused on.

Republicans and Trump are attacking Georgia D.A. Fani Willis and U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan, both of whom are integral to trials involving the January 6th and illegally trying to change votes in Georgia.

And it isn’t only politicians who are being targeted. The attacks on social media, especially on Twitter and Facebook are also ramping up, as they did last election.

The attacks on twitter that are directed to democratic voters and supporters in particular are being fueled by trolls and bots who have been given the greenlight by Elon Musk and the new twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino. Linda has overseen the rise in racism, antisemitism, and proliferation of hate on the platform, just like Elon hoped. Elon and Linda are emulating a sith and his apprentice — there are always two, never just one.

The nonstop attacks have even made their way to senate candidates such as Rep Barbara Lee who sees her chances of reaching the senate slipping as way too early polls show she trails Rep. Adam Schiff and Rep. Katie Porter. The challenges Rep Lee faces are myriad but the current battle is the change in language from her own governor, Gavin Newsom, who at one time said he would appoint a Black woman in the event Senator Dianne Feinstein retired and could not finish her term.

The promise was in response to the former California senator, Kamala Harris moving up to become Vice President and Newsom facing recall.

But now that he isn’t running for reelection and with Senator Feinstein still in office, the smooth talking governor has said he will not interfere in the senatorial race by appointing any of the candidates -including Rep Barbara Lee who supporters expected to receive the appointment.

There’s hard debate on both sides of the issue with democrats across the nation taking sides for or against Rep Lee getting the appointment. Rep Lee herself has spoken out, especially after Governor Newsom did not re-frame the terrible framing by Chuck Todd in a sit-down interview last week. Todd used the word “Caretaker” and because Newsom didn’t push back against that word, the headlines for almost every story used “caretaker” as a quote from Newsom. The word, which is offensive to many Black women given the history of being a mammy to white people, set off a firestorm amongst democratic supporters.

The California senatorial contest controversy subsided for a moment before the next democratic issue sprung up around support for VP Kamala Harris — all controversial roads apparently lead to Kamala it seems.

This time it was the lackluster and dismissive support for the stellar vice president by multiple senior democrats who apparently didn’t think they needed to be prepared to answer — and push back — against the absurd question being circulated by republicans and their mass media: Should president Biden fire Kamala Harris and pick another vice president?

The made-up controversy is a thing right now because republicans are afraid of this honorific: President Kamala Devi Harris.

All versions of President Kamala Devi Harris are frightening to republicans.

They are using scare tactics with their base that on the surface appear to focus on the scary question “Do you want Kamala Harris, a BLACK WOMAN, to be president?”

But the scare tactic goes deeper because what republicans really fear is Vice President Kamala Harris successfully running for and winning the presidency in 2028 and 2032.

When asked should president Biden drop VP Harris, both Rep. Jamie Raskin and former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi had to offer second more direct and emphatic answers after flubbing their first tries.

It was embarrassing and caused consternation from the democratic voters with many saying how disappointed they were that senior democrats were not prepared to answer a basic question about the vice president.

With the economy humming along Vice President Kamala Harris is in full campaign mode with a tour of college campuses that is being received with rousing support, parades, and lines of enthusiastic supporters hoping to see, talk to, and interact with the wildly popular vice president.

The Vice President’s “Fight for Our Freedoms College Tour” includes the following stops:
• Hampton University in Hampton, VA on 9/14
• North Carolina A&T in Greensboro, NC on 9/15
• Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA on 9/26
• University of Wisconsin-Madison in Madison, WI
• College of Southern Nevada in Las Vegas, NV
• Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ

The White House said further campus visits and additional details will be unveiled in the coming days.

Democrats should be comforted by the simple fact the party is in good hands, the president is running a smooth and successful administration, the economy is strong, and the dynamic duo are poised to present a strong case for reelection.
